Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which rose 4.00% or 0.0400 points to trade at 1.0400 at the close. Hellenic Petroleum SA (AT:HEPr) added 2.93% or 0.200 points to end at 7.020 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) was up 2.50% or 0.030 points to 1.230 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Profile Syst (AT:PRFr), which lost 5.67% or 0.036 points to trade at 0.599 in late trade. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) declined 5.12% or 0.017 points to end at 0.315 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) shed 4.59% or 0.0090 points to 0.1870.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 63 to 41 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.16% or 14.93 to $1297.63 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.36% or 0.17 to hit $47.23 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.55% or 0.27 to trade at $49.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.1267, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 96.58.
