Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Chemicals and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Autohellas (AT:AUTr), which rose 7.05% or 0.79 points to trade at 11.99 at the close. Frigoglass (AT:FRIr) added 4.48% or 0.09 points to end at 2.10 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was up 3.76% or 0.15 points to 4.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr), which lost 14.17% or 0.018 points to trade at 0.109 in late trade. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) declined 12.07% or 0.007 points to end at 0.051 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) shed 7.13% or 0.04 points to 0.53.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 44 to 43 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.28% or 3.10 to $1115.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.54% or 0.23 to hit $42.64 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.36% or 0.17 to trade at $48.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.45% to 1.1028, while EUR/GBP fell 0.94% to 0.7041.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 97.03.
