Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Media, Healthcare and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 10.00% or 0.022 points to trade at 0.242 at the close. Iaso (AT:IASr) added 4.33% or 0.029 points to end at 0.699 and Terna Energy (AT:TENr) was up 3.97% or 0.10 points to 2.62 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Autohellas (AT:AUTr), which lost 9.57% or 1.10 points to trade at 10.40 in late trade. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) declined 8.81% or 0.014 points to end at 0.145 and Ellaktor (AT:HELr) shed 7.14% or 0.140 points to 1.820.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 42 to 42 and 1 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.28% or 3.40 to $1210.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.09% or 1.19 to hit $58.25 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.43% or 0.93 to trade at $65.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.48% to 1.1144, while EUR/GBP rose 0.73% to 0.7210.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.16% at 95.07.
