Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Basic Resources and Household sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 0.83%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 9.66% or 0.0200 points to trade at 0.2270 at the close. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) added 5.56% or 0.040 points to end at 0.760 and Bank of Cyprus PCL (AT:BOCr) was up 3.66% or 0.006 points to 0.170 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 8.06% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.114 in late trade. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) declined 6.74% or 0.065 points to end at 0.900 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) shed 5.45% or 0.011 points to 0.191.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 62 to 37 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.16% or 1.95 to $1212.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.57% or 0.28 to hit $48.73 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.38% or 0.19 to trade at $49.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1153, while EUR/GBP fell 0.49% to 0.7725.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 95.51.
