Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Banking and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Sidenor (AT:SID), which rose 6.19% or 0.056 points to trade at 0.961 at the close. Halcor (AT:XAKO) added 5.01% or 0.019 points to end at 0.398 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was up 4.52% or 0.010 points to 0.231 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dromeas (AT:DROr), which lost 7.69% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.130 in late trade. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) declined 5.82% or 0.68 points to end at 11.01 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) shed 4.08% or 0.006 points to 0.141.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 39 to 37 and 1 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.36% or 4.30 to $1211.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.41% or 0.82 to hit $58.81 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.43% or 0.92 to trade at $64.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.1106, while EUR/GBP fell 0.61% to 0.7140.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 95.61.
