Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Household and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Dromeas (AT:DROr), which rose 8.66% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.138 at the close. Hellenic Telec (AT:OTEr) added 3.86% or 0.31 points to end at 8.35 and Athens Water (AT:EYDr) was up 3.13% or 0.18 points to 5.93 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which lost 11.90% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.037 in late trade. Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr) declined 10.23% or 0.018 points to end at 0.158 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) shed 8.72% or 0.013 points to 0.136.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 46 to 44 and 7 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.55% or 6.30 to $1131.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.75% or 1.24 to hit $46.26 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.93% or 0.92 to trade at $48.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.98% to 1.1188, while EUR/GBP fell 0.64% to 0.7222.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.76% at 96.09.
