Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Travel and Household sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 7.69% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.140 at the close. Iaso (AT:IASr) added 7.50% or 0.033 points to end at 0.475 and Halcor (AT:XAKO) was up 5.00% or 0.017 points to 0.359 in late trade.
Biggest losers included National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which lost 5.26% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.18 in late trade. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 4.00% or 0.006 points to end at 0.144 and Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) shed 3.47% or 0.180 points to 5.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 51 to 39 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 3.05% or 38.65 to $1227.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.29% or 1.47 to hit $43.19 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 3.18% or 1.46 to trade at $44.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.0846, while EUR/GBP fell 0.56% to 0.8631.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 99.06.
