Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Food, Retail and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 8.70% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.150 at the close. Elliniki Technodomiki Anemos SA (AT:ANEMr) added 6.40% or 0.062 points to end at 1.030 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was up 5.05% or 0.050 points to 1.040 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which lost 5.26% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.360 in late trade. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) declined 4.37% or 0.008 points to end at 0.175 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) shed 3.68% or 0.006 points to 0.157.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 60 to 38 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.27% or 3.15 to $1188.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.98% or 0.51 to hit $51.45 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.15% or 0.63 to trade at $54.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.0591, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.8701.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 101.72.
