Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 2.19% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which rose 2.00% or 0.30 points to trade at 15.30 at the close. Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr) added 1.43% or 0.30 points to end at 21.30 and Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr) was up 0.49% or 0.04 points to 8.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which lost 5.81% or 0.10 points to trade at 1.54 in late trade. Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) declined 4.82% or 0.08 points to end at 1.54 and Ideal Group SA (AT:IDEr) shed 4.78% or 0.28 points to 5.58.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 116 to 15 and 10 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.13% or 26.30 to $2,344.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.11% or 0.09 to hit $78.71 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.22% or 0.18 to trade at $82.93 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 105.31.
