Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Household, Food and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 1.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 2.75% or 0.004 points to trade at 0.165 at the close. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) added 2.00% or 0.0700 points to end at 3.5700 and Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA) was up 1.72% or 0.030 points to 1.770 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which lost 10.26% or 0.004 points to trade at 0.032 in late trade. Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr) declined 5.45% or 0.030 points to end at 0.520 and Sarantiseg (AT:SRSr) shed 4.10% or 0.60 points to 14.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 81 to 38 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.80% or 10.70 to $1322.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.21% or 0.14 to hit $67.56 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.65% or 0.48 to trade at $73.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.40% to 1.2184, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.8737.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 90.93.
