Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Retail, Banking and Food sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR), which rose 9.27% or 0.560 points to trade at 6.640 at the close. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) added 4.64% or 0.0700 points to end at 1.5800 and Autohellas (AT:AUTr) was up 3.60% or 0.81 points to 23.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which lost 10.71% or 0.006 points to trade at 0.050 in late trade. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) declined 6.45% or 0.010 points to end at 0.145 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) shed 6.00% or 0.090 points to 1.410.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 61 to 40 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.05% or 0.64 to $1276.16 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.86% or 0.93 to hit $50.91 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.11% or 1.18 to trade at $56.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1707, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.8921.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 93.73.
