Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Retail, Banking and Food sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which rose 13.93% or 0.085 points to trade at 0.695 at the close. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) added 9.59% or 0.014 points to end at 0.160 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) was up 2.27% or 0.030 points to 1.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Folli Follie (AT:HDFr), which lost 5.29% or 0.90 points to trade at 16.10 in late trade. Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) declined 3.50% or 0.055 points to end at 1.515 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) shed 3.28% or 0.190 points to 5.600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 50 to 36 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.76% or 9.66 to $1285.46 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.70% or 0.40 to hit $56.80 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.35% or 0.22 to trade at $63.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1583, while EUR/GBP rose 0.50% to 0.8845.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 94.83.
