Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr), which rose 3.81% or 1.22 points to trade at 33.28 at the close. Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) added 3.72% or 0.14 points to end at 3.90 and Intrakat Technikon Kai Energeiakon Ergon AE (AT:INCr) was up 2.21% or 0.11 points to 5.08 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which lost 3.31% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.38 in late trade. Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr) declined 2.25% or 0.05 points to end at 1.96 and Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr) shed 2.10% or 0.07 points to 3.27.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 83 to 35 and 20 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.46% or 11.70 to $2,541.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.70% or 0.53 to hit $75.00 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.74% or 0.58 to trade at $78.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.51% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 100.88.
