Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Household sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.41% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr), which rose 3.94% or 0.03 points to trade at 0.85 at the close. Aegean Airlines (AT:AGNr) added 2.27% or 0.25 points to end at 11.27 and National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr) was up 2.25% or 0.17 points to 7.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr), which lost 4.76% or 0.60 points to trade at 12.00 in late trade. Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) declined 3.02% or 0.16 points to end at 5.13 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) shed 2.11% or 0.04 points to 2.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 76 to 48 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.15% or 26.70 to $2,339.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.94% or 0.76 to hit $81.66 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.78% or 0.66 to trade at $85.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 105.49.
