Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 1.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 20.87% or 0.024 points to trade at 0.139 at the close. Halcor (AT:XAKO) added 10.36% or 0.023 points to end at 0.245 and Hygeia (AT:HYGr) was up 6.92% or 0.009 points to 0.139 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Reds (AT:CAMr), which lost 6.12% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.307 in late trade. ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr) declined 5.10% or 1.07 points to end at 19.92 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) shed 3.00% or 0.021 points to 0.678.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 60 to 25 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.44% or 5.40 to $1242.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 6.66% or 2.48 to hit $39.74 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 6.16% or 2.43 to trade at $41.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1401, while EUR/GBP fell 0.25% to 0.8075.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.31% at 94.21.
