Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Industrials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr), which rose 10.58% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.115 at the close. Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) added 6.45% or 0.16 points to end at 2.64 and Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr) was up 5.26% or 0.015 points to 0.300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dromeas (AT:DROr), which lost 10.83% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.107 in late trade. Iaso (AT:IASr) declined 7.06% or 0.054 points to end at 0.765 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) shed 6.67% or 0.07 points to 0.98.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 46 to 36 and 1 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.22% or 2.60 to $1176.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 3.06% or 1.78 to hit $59.92 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.21% or 2.02 to trade at $64.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.1257, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.7346.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 95.34.
