Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Utilities and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Dromeas (AT:DROr), which rose 28.43% or 0.029 points to trade at 0.131 at the close. Attica Bank (AT:BOAr) added 10.71% or 0.006 points to end at 0.062 and Athens Water (AT:EYDr) was up 9.84% or 0.43 points to 4.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grivalia Properties REIC (AT:GRIr), which lost 4.55% or 0.30 points to trade at 6.30 in late trade. Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) declined 4.41% or 0.89 points to end at 19.30 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) shed 3.83% or 0.04 points to 0.88.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 50 to 24 and 4 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.19% or 2.30 to $1199.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.94% or 1.18 to hit $59.64 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.37% or 1.52 to trade at $62.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1329, while EUR/GBP fell 0.27% to 0.7134.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 94.45.
