Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.42% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Bank of Cyprus PCL (AT:BOCr), which rose 7.48% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.158 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) added 5.95% or 0.0100 points to end at 0.1790 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) was up 4.91% or 0.029 points to 0.620 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 6.67% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.097 in late trade. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) declined 3.68% or 0.007 points to end at 0.183 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) shed 2.67% or 0.01 points to 0.26.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.55% or 6.55 to $1174.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.56% or 0.30 to hit $53.46 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.79% or 0.45 to trade at $56.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.0570, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.8580.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 101.87.
