Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Technology and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 1.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which rose 9.80% or 0.3500 points to trade at 3.9200 at the close. Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr) added 5.77% or 0.030 points to end at 0.550 and Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) was up 3.73% or 0.031 points to 0.861 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which lost 6.76% or 0.5000 points to trade at 6.9000 in late trade. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) declined 2.86% or 0.001 points to end at 0.031 and Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA) shed 1.98% or 0.035 points to 1.735.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 43 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.31% or 4.10 to $1318.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.41% or 0.28 to hit $68.33 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.05% or 0.78 to trade at $74.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.2107, while EUR/GBP fell 0.40% to 0.8695.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 91.35.
