Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Healthcare and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 1.19% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 6.70% or 0.0140 points to trade at 0.2240 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 5.54% or 0.192 points to end at 3.660 and Public Power (AT:DEHr) was up 5.36% or 0.12 points to 2.36 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 2.98% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.163 in late trade. Titan Cement Company SA (AT:TTNr) declined 1.71% or 0.400 points to end at 23.000 and Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) shed 1.44% or 0.012 points to 0.820.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 73 to 42 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.16% or 2.10 to $1321.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.42% or 0.90 to hit $64.47 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.87% or 0.60 to trade at $69.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.82% to 1.2045, while EUR/GBP rose 0.54% to 0.8894.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 91.61.
