Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.86%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Profile Syst (AT:PRFr), which rose 4.74% or 0.22 points to trade at 4.87 at the close. Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr) added 3.76% or 0.13 points to end at 3.45 and Petros Petropoulos SA (AT:PTRr) was up 3.58% or 0.30 points to 8.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hellenic Telec (AT:OTEr), which lost 2.32% or 0.32 points to trade at 13.48 in late trade. Interlife General Insurance Company SA (AT:INLIFr) declined 1.69% or 0.08 points to end at 4.65 and Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr) shed 1.15% or 0.01 points to 1.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 92 to 32 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.12% or 2.75 to $2,366.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.25% or 0.21 to hit $83.67 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.19% or 0.17 to trade at $87.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 104.83.
