Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Utilities and Retail sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH), which rose 4.35% or 0.130 points to trade at 3.120 at the close. Public Power (AT:DEHr) added 4.19% or 0.09 points to end at 2.24 and AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) was up 4.17% or 0.060 points to 1.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which lost 13.70% or 0.037 points to trade at 0.233 in late trade. Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr) declined 12.89% or 0.096 points to end at 0.649 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) shed 3.24% or 0.060 points to 1.790.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 58 to 41 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.12% or 1.61 to $1293.09 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.18% or 0.57 to hit $47.84 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.61% or 0.32 to trade at $52.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1801, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.9218.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 93.19.
