Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr), which rose 4.17% or 0.06 points to trade at 1.52 at the close. Aegean Airlines (AT:AGNr) added 3.64% or 0.41 points to end at 11.68 and Public Power (AT:DEHr) was up 3.02% or 0.33 points to 11.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr), which lost 3.23% or 0.04 points to trade at 1.20 in late trade. Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr) declined 2.73% or 0.11 points to end at 3.74 and Hellenic Telec (AT:OTEr) shed 2.25% or 0.31 points to 13.44.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 75 to 45 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.05% or 1.25 to $2,335.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.44% or 0.36 to hit $81.38 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.41% or 0.35 to trade at $84.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 105.51.
