Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Household, Banking and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which rose 6.36% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.170 at the close. National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr) added 6.09% or 0.090 points to end at 1.568 and Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) was up 5.30% or 0.610 points to 12.120 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Intercontinental International Real Estate Investment Company SA (AT:ICIr), which lost 4.55% or 0.250 points to trade at 5.350 in late trade. Gek Terna (AT:HRMr) declined 4.18% or 0.205 points to end at 4.695 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) shed 3.85% or 0.055 points to 1.375.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 60 to 44 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 2.39% or 28.50 to $1221.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.65% or 1.94 to hit $71.23 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.71% or 2.25 to trade at $80.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1555, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.8762.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 95.00.
