On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for December delivery traded at USD1224.80 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.23%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1224.00 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1213.00 and resistance at USD1228.90.
US Dollar Index Futures, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.32% to trade at USD94.76.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for September delivery rose 0.11% to trade at USD15.435 a troy ounce while Copper for September delivery fell 0.86% to trade at USD2.724 a pound.
