Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Real Estate Investments, Metal Products & Machinery and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Teknosa IC Ve Dis Ticaret (IS:TKNSA), which rose 5.11% or 0.390 points to trade at 8.020 at the close. Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON) added 3.33% or 5.00 points to end at 155.00 and Goltas Cimento (IS:GOLTS) was up 2.13% or 1.65 points to 79.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT), which lost 4.27% or 0.50 points to trade at 11.20 in late trade. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) declined 3.57% or 0.010 points to end at 0.280 and Enka Insaat (IS:ENKAI) shed 3.57% or 0.21 points to 5.68.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 226 to 177 and 15 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.75% or 9.00 to $1212.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.11% or 0.06 to hit $57.05 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.30% or 0.20 to trade at $65.03 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.87% to 2.6515, while EUR/TRY fell 0.09% to 2.9110.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.70% at 96.21.
