Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Health Care, Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB), which rose 2.50% or 1.550 points to trade at 63.850 at the close. Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) added 2.36% or 2.330 points to end at 101.010 and Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) was up 1.99% or 10.560 points to 539.940 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which lost 3.38% or 0.780 points to trade at 22.230 in late trade. Grupo Comercial Chedraui, SAB De CV (MX:CHDRAUIB) declined 1.85% or 0.830 points to end at 43.720 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) shed 2.89% or 0.860 points to 28.990.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 72 to 61 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.60% or 7.40 to $1234.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in March fell 4.47% or 2.37 to hit $50.49 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract fell 2.19% or 1.30 to trade at $58.03 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.88% to 14.9650, while EUR/MXN rose 0.79% to 16.9305.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 94.86.
