Georgina Energy PLC (LSE:LON:GEX) has updated investors on its flagship Hussar EP513 and Mt Winter EPA155 projects, with progress made despite the challenging conditions.
The Hussar EP513 site, in Western Australia, has been affected by severe weather, with flooding disrupting access and delaying project activities.
Nevertheless, the company has completed a preliminary site visit, including inspections and heritage monitoring.
Drilling operations will start once conditions are safe and pending the receipt of necessary permits, Georgina said.
The company anticipates regulatory approval shortly after the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation & Safety reopens on 3 January 2025.
Georgina also noted that it has submitted reprocessed seismic data for Hussar, revealing expanded structural closure opportunities and enhancing future development potential.
Additionally, a scoping study for a proposed gas separation and purification plant at Hussar has been received, detailing costs and potential economic benefits for processing helium, hydrogen, and natural gas.
At Mt Winter, meanwhile, the company is advancing discussions to finalise an ALRA agreement required for regulatory ratification of a priority area.
Independent (LON:IOG) consultants are currently reviewing the potential of the Mt Winter prospect through reprocessed seismic data, it noted.
Significantly, Georgina is in talks with two oil and gas companies for potential farm-in agreements focusing on advanced helium, hydrogen, and hydrocarbon prospects.
