Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Utilities and Healthcare Equipment & Services sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.22%, while the SBF 120 index lost 1.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX), which rose 7.39% or 14.25 points to trade at 207.10 at the close. Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) added 4.22% or 3.22 points to end at 79.60 and Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) was up 3.63% or 1.22 points to 34.86 in late trade.
Biggest losers included STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which lost 3.88% or 1.24 points to trade at 30.72 in late trade. Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) declined 3.08% or 0.51 points to end at 16.17 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) shed 2.62% or 1.82 points to 67.64.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which rose 13.79% to 9.90, Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which was up 8.49% to settle at 10.35 and La Francaise Des Jeux Sa (EPA:FDJ) which gained 8.20% to close at 35.36.
The worst performers were Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was down 11.66% to 82.20 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 11.47% to settle at 0.93 and Lectra SA (EPA:LECS) which was down 4.29% to 26.80 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 308 to 193 and 86 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.30% or 30.55 to $2,384.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.38% or 1.08 to hit $77.20 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.52% or 1.25 to trade at $81.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 104.07.
