Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.16%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP), which rose 1.27% or 1.24 points to trade at 98.92 at the close. Danone SA (EPA:DANO) added 1.24% or 0.76 points to end at 62.24 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 1.20% or 0.25 points to 21.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which lost 1.31% or 1.40 points to trade at 105.35 in late trade. Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) declined 1.18% or 3.05 points to end at 256.40 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) shed 0.86% or 0.37 points to 42.84.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eiffage SA (EPA:FOUG) which rose 1.36% to 95.36, Euronext (EPA:ENX) which was up 1.35% to settle at 97.25 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) which gained 1.27% to close at 98.92.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 5.39% to 4.32 in late trade, Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which lost 3.71% to settle at 8.00 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 3.37% to 3.27 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 262 to 207 and 107 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.49% or 12.55 to $2,540.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.11% or 0.84 to hit $74.69 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.12% or 0.88 to trade at $77.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.58% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.50% at 100.96.
