Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Healthcare, Gas & Water and Support Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.22%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 1.44% or 0.60 points to trade at 42.36 at the close. Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) added 0.84% or 18.00 points to end at 2,171.00 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) was up 0.79% or 0.54 points to 69.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which lost 2.18% or 2.70 points to trade at 121.20 in late trade. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) declined 2.17% or 2.30 points to end at 103.80 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) shed 1.51% or 0.95 points to 61.97.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which rose 2.13% to 119.90, Renault SA (EPA:RENA) which was up 1.44% to settle at 42.36 and SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which gained 1.21% to close at 18.45.
The worst performers were Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was down 18.23% to 8.70 in late trade, Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which lost 5.04% to settle at 9.05 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 4.92% to 3.60 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 284 to 195 and 96 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.10% or 2.55 to $2,543.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.41% or 0.30 to hit $73.36 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.45% or 0.35 to trade at $77.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 101.40.
