Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Healthcare and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.08%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Kering SA (PA:PRTP), which rose 1.84% or 3.20 points to trade at 176.80 at the close. Technip (PA:TECF) added 1.63% or 0.82 points to end at 51.07 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA (PA:LVMH) was up 1.54% or 2.40 points to 158.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 1.76% or 0.100 points to trade at 5.582 in late trade. Renault SA (PA:RENA) declined 1.14% or 0.88 points to end at 76.00 and Vinci SA (PA:SGEF) shed 1.12% or 0.78 points to 68.90.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which rose 5.45% to 22.2500, Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which was up 2.68% to settle at 5.248 and Bollore SA (PA:BOLL) which gained 2.53% to close at 3.409.
The worst performers were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) which was down 1.76% to 5.582 in late trade, Eurazeo (PA:EURA) which lost 1.37% to settle at 55.33 and Ipsos (PA:ISOS) which was down 1.26% to 28.96 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 318 to 307 and 117 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.79% to 16.41 a new 52-week low.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.25% or 3.35 to $1346.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.28% or 0.99 to hit $44.48 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.89% or 0.87 to trade at $46.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1170, while EUR/GBP rose 0.63% to 0.8652.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 95.63.
