Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.01%, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which rose 0.47% or 0.28 points to trade at 59.94 at the close. EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) added 0.32% or 0.70 points to end at 217.60 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was up 0.20% or 0.08 points to 40.56 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which lost 4.71% or 2.66 points to trade at 53.76 in late trade. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 2.41% or 9.00 points to end at 363.70 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) shed 2.35% or 5.60 points to 232.45.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which rose 7.68% to 4.15, Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which was up 5.25% to settle at 8.38 and Opmobility SE (EPA:OPM) which gained 3.14% to close at 8.88.
The worst performers were Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which was down 6.14% to 198.90 in late trade, Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which lost 4.71% to settle at 53.76 and Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was down 4.26% to 5.12 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 318 to 186 and 89 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 5.95 to $2,735.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.88% or 1.29 to hit $69.98 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.55% or 1.13 to trade at $74.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 103.75.
