Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.56%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP), which rose 3.85% or 7.25 points to trade at 195.35 at the close. Danone SA (PA:DANO) added 2.90% or 1.96 points to end at 69.44 and Accor SA (PA:ACCP) was up 2.04% or 0.84 points to 42.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vivendi SA (PA:VIV), which lost 0.78% or 0.16 points to trade at 20.43 in late trade. Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) declined 0.55% or 0.10 points to end at 18.07 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) shed 0.35% or 0.80 points to 230.85.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which rose 4.86% to 11.655, L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) which was up 3.85% to settle at 195.35 and Danone SA (PA:DANO) which gained 2.90% to close at 69.44.
The worst performers were Innate Pharma (PA:IPH) which was down 3.60% to 11.780 in late trade, STMicroelectronics (PA:STM) which lost 3.11% to settle at 12.940 and Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) which was down 1.85% to 12.50 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 358 to 262 and 90 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 3.19% to 13.73.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.94% or 11.79 to $1244.61 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.77% or 0.33 to hit $43.34 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.57% or 0.26 to trade at $46.01 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.1185, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8796.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 97.06.
