Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.40%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP), which rose 2.68% or 1.75 points to trade at 67.02 at the close. Essilor International Compagnie Generale d’Optique SA (PA:ESSI) added 2.61% or 3.05 points to end at 119.85 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) was up 2.41% or 7.00 points to 297.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Renault SA (PA:RENA), which lost 2.70% or 2.32 points to trade at 83.68 in late trade. Orange SA (PA:ORAN) declined 1.23% or 0.18 points to end at 14.88 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) shed 0.62% or 0.09 points to 13.57.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which rose 6.04% to 5.657, Remy Cointreau (PA:RCOP) which was up 3.59% to settle at 103.00 and Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which gained 2.84% to close at 48.960.
The worst performers were Renault SA (PA:RENA) which was down 2.70% to 83.68 in late trade, Orange SA (PA:ORAN) which lost 1.23% to settle at 14.88 and Elis Services SA (PA:ELIS) which was down 0.92% to 19.49 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 372 to 235 and 90 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 5.83% to 12.78.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.19% or 2.39 to $1266.51 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.48% or 0.22 to hit $46.30 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.50% or 0.24 to trade at $48.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1199, while EUR/GBP fell 0.78% to 0.8782.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 97.04.
