Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.16% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Cap Gemini SA (PA:CAPP), which rose 1.82% or 1.49 points to trade at 83.54 at the close. Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) added 1.55% or 0.65 points to end at 42.64 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA (PA:LVMH) was up 1.51% or 2.15 points to 144.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Technip (PA:TECF), which lost 3.76% or 1.91 points to trade at 48.84 in late trade. Total SA (PA:TOTF) declined 2.29% or 0.99 points to end at 42.10 and Orange SA (PA:ORAN) shed 0.76% or 0.11 points to 14.36.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were SEB SA (PA:SEBF) which rose 7.07% to 122.65, Sartorius Stedim Biotech (PA:STDM) which was up 4.67% to settle at 64.79 and DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which gained 3.06% to close at 64.400.
The worst performers were Technip (PA:TECF) which was down 3.76% to 48.84 in late trade, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which lost 3.61% to settle at 3.309 and Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which was down 2.32% to 5.262 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 409 to 257 and 92 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 3.66% to 18.83.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.26% or 3.50 to $1328.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.65% or 1.17 to hit $43.02 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.32% or 1.07 to trade at $45.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.0983, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8362.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 97.37.
