Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.83%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which rose 3.10% or 1.38 points to trade at 45.92 at the close. Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) added 2.48% or 0.57 points to end at 23.53 and Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR) was up 2.26% or 0.30 points to 13.56 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP), which lost 0.31% or 0.60 points to trade at 191.50 in late trade. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) declined 0.31% or 0.24 points to end at 76.18 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) shed 0.31% or 0.40 points to 130.65.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which rose 7.80% to 1.98, Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which was up 4.01% to settle at 9.34 and Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which gained 3.85% to close at 105.10.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 9.98% to 0.76 in late trade, Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which lost 2.43% to settle at 34.52 and Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was down 1.51% to 104.70 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 298 to 193 and 94 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.14% or 3.20 to $2,366.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $83.91 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.14 to trade at $87.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 104.82.
