Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.35%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Accor SA (EPA:ACCP), which rose 1.66% or 0.58 points to trade at 35.47 at the close. Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) added 1.41% or 0.72 points to end at 51.90 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was up 1.23% or 1.14 points to 94.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which lost 0.85% or 1.05 points to trade at 122.90 in late trade. Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) declined 0.61% or 0.09 points to end at 14.35 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) shed 0.47% or 1.20 points to 254.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were SES (EPA:SESFd) which rose 2.86% to 4.82, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was up 2.66% to settle at 0.88 and Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which gained 2.42% to close at 4.40.
The worst performers were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 3.75% to 3.39 in late trade, Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which lost 3.26% to settle at 37.95 and ICADE (EPA:ICAD) which was down 2.34% to 20.02 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 255 to 212 and 107 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.61% or 40.10 to $2,532.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.52% or 1.19 to hit $76.97 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.32% or 1.07 to trade at $79.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 102.53.
