Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA), which rose 1.14% or 0.35 points to trade at 31.04 at the close. Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) added 0.93% or 0.036 points to end at 3.908 and Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMPO) was up 0.85% or 0.37 points to 43.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV), which lost 2.44% or 1.06 points to trade at 42.38 in late trade. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) declined 1.72% or 0.090 points to end at 5.140 and Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) shed 1.13% or 0.41 points to 36.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 74 to 67 and 12 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 1.44% or 0.80 to $56.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.51% or 0.79 to hit $53.12 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.43% or 5.05 to trade at $1167.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.70% to 1.0479, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8503.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.67% at 102.55.
