Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 1.73% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Konecranes ABP (HE:KCRA), which rose 0.38% or 0.12 points to trade at 31.60 at the close. DNA Oyj (HE:DNAO) fell 0.12% or 0.0200 points to end at 16.9800 and Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) was down 0.13% or 0.04 points to 29.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 4.73% or 0.2580 points to trade at 5.2020 in late trade. Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) declined 3.40% or 1.03 points to end at 29.29 and YIT Oyj (HE:YIT) shed 3.05% or 0.17 points to 5.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 103 to 42 and 17 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 2.51% or 1.82 to $70.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.49% or 2.34 to hit $64.70 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.36% or 16.30 to trade at $1184.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1343, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.8930.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 96.60.
