Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 1.30% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMPO), which rose 0.22% or 0.09 points to trade at 40.12 at the close. Valmet Oyj (HE:VALMT) fell 0.27% or 0.06 points to end at 22.19 and Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) was down 0.40% or 0.02 points to 4.01 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which lost 3.46% or 0.16 points to trade at 4.35 in late trade. Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) declined 3.40% or 0.33 points to end at 9.26 and Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) shed 2.67% or 0.48 points to 17.29.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 108 to 66 and 13 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.19% or 0.14 to $72.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.25% or 0.17 to hit $69.11 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.39% or 10.21 to trade at $2,652.81 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 107.00.
