Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 1.04% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metso Oyj (HE:METSO), which rose 0.23% or 0.07 points to trade at 30.16 at the close. Nordea Bank AB FDR (HE:NDA1V) fell 0.20% or 0.020 points to end at 9.795 and Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) was down 0.27% or 0.010 points to 3.762 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 3.80% or 0.2950 points to trade at 7.4700 in late trade. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) declined 2.73% or 0.180 points to end at 6.425 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) shed 2.09% or 0.34 points to 15.91.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 105 to 34 and 17 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.19% or 0.12 to $63.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.41% or 0.83 to hit $58.12 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.59% or 7.62 to trade at $1294.92 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1905, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8930.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 92.78.
