Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which rose 6.26% or 0.214 points to trade at 3.634 at the close. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) added 2.13% or 0.78 points to end at 37.48 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was up 2.24% or 0.0830 points to 3.7930 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which lost 5.49% or 0.425 points to trade at 7.310 in late trade. Kesko Oyj (HE:KESKOB) declined 2.91% or 1.50 points to end at 50.12 and Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) shed 2.64% or 1.92 points to 70.84.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 77 to 77 and 10 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 3.56% or 2.69 to $72.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.83% or 1.85 to hit $63.46 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.81% or 21.90 to trade at $1234.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.72% to 1.1393, while EUR/GBP fell 1.07% to 0.8783.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.71% at 96.21.
