Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 1.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 6.09% or 0.2220 points to trade at 3.8700 at the close. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) added 4.67% or 0.68 points to end at 15.24 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was up 4.59% or 0.345 points to 7.855 in late trade.
Biggest losers included TeliaSonera AB (HE:TLS1V), which lost 4.49% or 0.204 points to trade at 4.336 in late trade. Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV) declined 3.26% or 1.22 points to end at 36.22 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) shed 2.11% or 0.65 points to 30.17.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 116 to 47 and 23 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was down 1.05% or 0.47 to $44.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.09% or 0.46 to hit $41.71 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.09% or 13.70 to trade at $1247.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.84% to 1.1287, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.7942.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.76% at 94.73.
