Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 1.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V), which rose 8.99% or 1.34 points to trade at 16.25 at the close. Kemira Oyj (HE:KRA1V) added 5.78% or 0.58 points to end at 10.62 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was up 4.69% or 0.350 points to 7.810 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 3.11% or 0.1240 points to trade at 3.8680 in late trade. Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) declined 2.69% or 0.65 points to end at 23.54 and Konecranes Oyj (HE:KCR1V) shed 1.93% or 0.41 points to 20.85.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 108 to 63 and 11 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 2.93% or 1.30 to $45.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.17% or 1.35 to hit $43.99 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.21% or 2.55 to trade at $1242.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1306, while EUR/GBP fell 0.49% to 0.7742.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 94.43.
