Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.93%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Amer Sports Corporation (HEL:AMEAS), which rose 6.98% or 1.73 points to trade at 26.52 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HEL:OUT1V) added 4.82% or 0.1960 points to end at 4.2660 and Huhtamaki Oyj (HEL:HUH1V) was up 2.83% or 0.90 points to 32.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included YIT Oyj (HEL:YTY1V), which lost 2.51% or 0.15 points to trade at 5.83 in late trade. Konecranes Oyj (HEL:KCR1V) declined 0.89% or 0.25 points to end at 27.95 and Fortum Oyj (HEL:FUM1V) shed 0.76% or 0.12 points to 15.62.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 87 to 75 and 9 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.91% or 0.48 to $53.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.40% or 1.15 to hit $49.13 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.16% or 1.70 to trade at $1095.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1025, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.7058.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 96.95.
