Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 2.97% or 0.175 points to trade at 6.075 at the close. Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) added 1.46% or 0.54 points to end at 37.50 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) was up 1.32% or 0.29 points to 22.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kesko Oyj (HE:KESKOB), which lost 4.21% or 1.87 points to trade at 42.53 in late trade. Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) declined 1.79% or 0.070 points to end at 3.840 and Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) shed 1.68% or 0.180 points to 10.510.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 74 to 63 and 11 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 1.96% or 1.04 to $54.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.67% or 0.84 to hit $51.08 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.35% or 4.35 to trade at $1258.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.0665, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8578.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 100.48.
