Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV), which rose 6.36% or 3.00 points to trade at 50.20 at the close. Konecranes Abp (HE:KCRA) added 2.24% or 0.74 points to end at 33.74 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) was up 1.52% or 0.170 points to 11.360 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA), which lost 5.52% or 1.84 points to trade at 31.48 in late trade. Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) declined 0.65% or 0.024 points to end at 3.692 and Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) shed 0.63% or 0.040 points to 6.330.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 69 to 62 and 19 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.71% or 0.39 to $55.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.03% or 0.53 to hit $52.23 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.08% or 13.55 to trade at $1266.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.0612, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8560.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 100.85.
