Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 1.67% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Valmet Oyj (HE:VALMT), which rose 5.95% or 1.68 points to trade at 29.91 at the close. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) added 5.73% or 2.92 points to end at 53.89 and Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) was up 5.07% or 0.45 points to 9.32 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which lost 0.64% or 0.32 points to trade at 49.45 in late trade. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) declined 0.32% or 0.02 points to end at 6.22 and Kemira Oyj (HE:KEMIRA) 0.00% or 0.00 points to 22.06.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 63 and 23 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.81% or 1.32 to $71.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.05% or 1.43 to hit $68.26 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.34% or 9.20 to trade at $2,693.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.42% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.34% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 100.25.
