Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 1.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which rose 3.37% or 0.85 points to trade at 26.05 at the close. Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) added 3.20% or 1.01 points to end at 32.54 and YIT Oyj (HE:YIT) was up 2.53% or 0.17 points to 6.88 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kesko Oyj (HE:KESKOB), which lost 1.90% or 0.91 points to trade at 47.07 in late trade. Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) declined 1.21% or 0.70 points to end at 57.32 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) shed 0.26% or 0.09 points to 34.63.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 90 to 49 and 16 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was up 0.54% or 0.34 to $63.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.44% or 0.26 to hit $59.45 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.53% or 20.30 to trade at $1350.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.2403, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8879.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 89.20.
